Getting Married? Here are a few things we think every bride should know…

Planning a wedding? We know there is a lot to think about, so we put together some commonly asked questions and a few of our favorite bridal beauty tips to help make your wedding morning feel easy, relaxed, and fun.

When Should I Book Hair & Makeup?

We recommend booking 6–12 months ahead,
Popular months in New Mexico and especially Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos are beginning of summer months and in the fall September, October, and even November
 If you're planning a destination wedding, we suggest reaching out as soon as you have your date and venue.
When you inquire, send us your wedding date, venue, number of people needing hair and makeup, and the look you're going for.

Should I Have a Bridal Trial?
Yes! Your trial is the perfect time to try your look, make adjustments, and make sure you feel like yourself. We recommend this so much because you could have one look in your mind and when you do the trial it gives you a chance to live in the look and see if that's what you really want for your special day. 
Always remember.. We want your feedback! We are here to make you feel like yourself on your special day so if there are changes that you want after the trial please let us know.  We always want you to be happy and comfortable.
Before the trial, you will receive an email with the prep instructions. Please send us inspirational photos of hair and makeup beforehand. It’s also helpful to see your dress, veil and any hair accessories you are adding.

Prep your skin for the New Mexico weather
 
   New Mexico’s climate means high elevation, lots of beautiful sunshine, dry air, and sometimes a little wind.
 
Makeup/Skin Prep
Keep your routine simple and consistent, stay hydrated, and avoid trying new products right before your wedding.


Hair Prep
Follow the prep instructions your stylist gives you. Make sure hair is clean and completely dry beforehand. Bring your extensions and hair accessories to your trial whenever possible.
If you're getting married outdoors, we'll communicate with you so that-together we can choose a style that will hold up while still looking beautiful. Please keep in mind when choosing Pinterest photos that most of them do have extensions or are AI generated photos.  We are able to help you find the best option for clip ins for your special day.
 
Will you help us with a timeline the day of?
 
Yes, We will put together a timeline closer to the wedding day.  Please make sure that we have all the names along with services so we can get that timeline back to you and make sure there are no edits the day of.  We want things to run as smoothly as possible. We always pad the time so that you don’t feel rushed and can relax while getting your services done. We would rather have you ready a little early than feeling rushed before your ceremony or photos.
As a general guideline, plan on 1 hour for the bride's hair and makeup, with additional time for bridesmaids and family members.  Remember to let us know if your photographer wants you ready earlier and plan time to get your dress and veil on!
 
Getting ready at a hotel or Airbnb?
Natural light is your/our best friend!
If that's a yes, choose a space with good windows, plenty of room, and easy access to outlets. A little extra space also makes things much easier for us to unpack all our gear.  We appreciate a space made ahead of time so that we don’t have to move around your personal items.
❖    Don't worry about having everything—we bring the tools we need to help get you ready (ring lights, hair and makeup products and a table if needed).
❖    If you're staying at a hotel, let us know where you're getting ready when you book so we can plan accordingly.


**And don't forget to eat breakfast and drink some water. We promise you'll be glad you did!
